Guest User and Default User Settings

To configure guest user account settings, go to Setup > Users > Guest User and Default User Settings.
All the information needed to configure guest user settings is organized into the following three tabs: Guest User Settings, Default User Settings for Self-Registered Users and Legacy SSO Settings.

Guest User Settings Tab

On the Guest User Settings tab, you define a user whose settings will be inherited by the guest user.

  1. In Guest user, select a user.
    The field offers autocomplete suggestions as you type in characters. Users matching the input are displayed as suggestions.
    When the guest user is set, the login screen is skipped and visitors open CPQ without logging in. Every CPQ visitor is automatically logged in as the user selected in Guest user. The format of the URL a guest user should use is app_name/mt/domain_name (e.g. v60.webcomcpq.com/mt/Your_Domain).
  2. Enable or disable the following toggle switches:
    - Guest user cannot add to quote: defines whether the guest user is able to add to quote;
    - Guest user can proceed to check-out without self registration: defines whether the guest user needs to self register in order to proceed to checkout;
    - When guest user creates a quote, system can pre-populate customer roles based on user's or user's company info: defines whether CPQ pre-populates customer roles with user’s Bill-to and Ship-to information as well as user’s company information;
  3. Click Save.

Default User Settings for Self-Registered Users Tab

On the Default User Settings for Self-Registered Users tab, you define settings that self-registered users inherit.

  1. In Custom Message, enter a message that will appear on the User Registration page.
    HTML tags can be used.
  2. In Default User Type, select a user type for self-registered users.
    The field offers autocomplete suggestions as you type in characters. User types matching the input are displayed as suggestions.
  3. In Default Password Expiration Period in Days for Self-Registered Users, define the number of days before a password expires.
  4. In Default Ordering Parent, select an ordering parent for self-registered users.
    The field offers autocomplete suggestions as you type in characters.
  5. In Default Managing Parent, select a managing parent for self-registered users.
    The field offers autocomplete suggestions as you type in characters.
  6. From the Optional Fields list, select fields that will be displayed on the User Registration page.
  7. Click Save.

Legacy SSO Settings Tab

On the Legacy SSO Settings tab, you define settings for the User Registration page.

  1. In Single Sign-On key and Single Sign-On vector, enter values to encrypt and decrypt a username.
    Even though key and vector are set by default, you need to provide unique values.
  2. Click Save.

The following is a list of optional fields that are displayed on the User Registration page.

  • company name
  • customer account number
  • address(1)
  • address(2)
  • city
  • country
  • state
  • province
  • ZIP code
  • phone

Required fields that appear on the User Registration page are as follows:

  • domain
  • first name
  • last name
  • username
  • password
  • email

Besides required and optional fields, the registration form can also contain user custom fields. When defined, user custom fields are also listed next to Optional Fields on the Default User Settings for Self-Registered Users tab.

Pre-populating Domain for the Login Page

To simplify the login process, you can pre-populate the Domain field on the Login page.
In order to have the Domain field automatically pre-filled when a user opens the Login page, a link to the page should contain a domain name.

The URL structure is as follows: app_name/Login.aspx?startdomain=Your_domain (e.g. v60test.webcomcpq.com/Login.aspx?startdomain=docteam).
